hello all

i have been trying to get Gaim to work. i am running mandrake 9.1 and i have installed the Gaim thats on 9.1's disks. the version on mandrake 9.1 is 0.59 .I have installe 0.59 version but its not coming together. I whant to contect another person with msm account from hotmail. So i have opened an account myself. this info from the new account I have put in Giam 0.59 on modify account page. i have put in

Auth host : @hotmail.com
Auth port 5190
and in the Alias part near the top of the page, Do i put my hotmail user name in here ?

with Giam 0.72 I have downloaded the source and have tryed to compile it. The ./configure rans OK but when I run make it says that there is :

No target specified and no makefile found .

so can i move Gaim 0.72 on and am i right where i have been putting my info from hotmail in the right place on the Modify Account page.

I think MSN works in 0.71 and 0.72....

Instead of compiling gaim 0.72, use the mdk9.1 rpm provided by the gaim website:

I was able to get my gaim to work...

I downloaded gaim-0.72-1rh9.i386.rpm, and update the libraries that were needed, and it worked!

Also my MSN worked too.

i am on RH9 and my MSN doesn't work keeps saying Error Reading from Server. I am using .72 also.

Get the .72 gaim rpm from the previously linked rpm.

There were some issues (the MSN/ICQ, not gaim) with .71 that were resolved in .72.


The Redhat rpm works fine with Mandrake (its the one I'm using right now with Mandrake 9.1).
