It's possible to mount NTFS on Linux but it will require recompiling Kernel with NTFS Read Option. If it's FAT32, it's no problem.

I'm using NT and I want to use the USB port of it. So I want to install Linux, will it harm my NT?

Im pretty sure that NT4 doesnt support USB.
What exactly are you trying to do?
Check out this how-to to dual-boot NT and Linux.

I'm trying to transfer my files in NT via USB using Linux platform.

1. NT 4 DOES NOT SUPPORT USB

2. NT 4 only uses FAT and NTFS1

You could use "smbmount" to mount your NT Share Point to Linux to transfer files over network.
