Ever heard of something called "Microsoft Virtual PC"? It's a software that runs on windows platforms and allows for the installation of other operating systems.

Try the link above! It free and will get you going!

I advise NOT to use "Microsoft Virtual PC"...
WHY?
Not because I don't like Microsoft ("In world without fences and walls, who needs Gates and Windows?" ), but because VMWare will be more flexible.
You can install VMware Player for free on Windows or Linux, so you decide whether you use Linux on Windows or Windows on Linux.
VMware Player is for free and you find some prepared images here:

http://isv-image.ubuntu.com/vmware/

If you want to prepare VMware machine by yourself, you can do it with VMware Server (for free!)

Rafal
