Can I use my modem as a telephone?

I am running Mandrake 9.1 and just recently discovered that my headset from my telephone fits into my Media Hub I bought a little while ago. The Media Hub is a little gizmo that I connect to the speaker and microphone connections on the back of the sound card to get extra functions such as manual volume and switching possibility between headphones and speakers, anyway that's not of importance at this instance. What I do want to know is whether there exists a program for making the modem work as a regular telephone.

My idea was to make use of the address book in KDE and just copy-paste, or better still clicking the phone number to make the modem dial the number and letting the sound from the microphone go through the computer via the modem and into the adressee's eardrum and vice versa for the other person, sort of...

If that would be possible it would not be too far off thinking of the possibility of recording the call straight into the can, which would be very handy for me since I seem to have a hole on the other side of the head where the spoken information seem too seep out.

Got some ideas for me, except plugging the other hole?

Thanks

It seems like ant-phone could be the one. I just finished downloading it and will try to install it and test it right now!
