Can I set the default printer on a user level?
Hi All, I'm runnig Mandrake 9.1, and I would like to set the default printer based on the user that logs in. Is that possible? can I set it up with some type of login script, and what are the commands.
Thanks Robin |
robinbones; yes. question? which mode
r u runnin, graphical ot text? graphical use controlcenter to config all ur needs. via text u will have to utilize commands. ? do u have reference & user manuals? those will have descripitive detailed commands & how to,when to use them. |
I've looked through the documentation, I'm using Gnome. In the mandrake control center, I can set the default printer, but that is a system wide setting. I can't figure out how to tell it, when userB logs in, I want to default printer to be printerB.
There are multiple users logged in at any given time too... So I can't change the system default when the user logs in. |
robinbones; question? system is yours or workplace? this makes a difference,
if it is urs from root u can change anything. workplace then system adminstrator has control. please clarify ur position. my help is only from user mode only, that is the extent of my knowledge. sorry! |
