Can gedit open an HTML document in firefox?

I have used Notepad++ in Windows a lot, I find that gedit is very similar and can do about everything I use Notepad++ for except one thing. In Notepad++ you can open an HTML document in firefox using CTRL-Shift-x. I have looked through the plugins on https://live.gnome.org/Gedit/Plugins and do not see any that does this. Am I missing one or does anyone know of a way to do this. The shortcut keys can be different then Notepad++, I just want to be able to open my project without having the browse to the document location and clicking on it - I know I am lazy :-).

If there happens to be another editor for Linux that does this and other features of Notepad++ I am open to that option also.

Thanks
George

I do not know how to do that using gedit, but there is an IDE called Bluefish that does what you want. Give that a try if possible.
