Can't install my Lexmark Z35 on Redhat 9

I've dowloaded the Linux drivers for my Lexmark Z35 from the lexmark homepage. Now when I try to install it I get an error message during the installation saying

/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.39100: line 16: [: =: unary
operator expected
while executing
"close $io"

then I still have the possibility to force the installation but it becomes broken. Can Anyone tell me what this error message means? I'm pretty new at this linux thing.

Using Redhat 9 (Shrike)
kernel: 2.4.20-13.9

Kind Regards

André Fettouhi
