can't get syslog to log to remote host
I currently have two linux machines running, one is running debian woody, the other mandrake 8.2.
I Usually work on the mandrake machine and I would like all syslog messages from both machines visible on tty10 of my mandrake machine. Here's what i did and what doesnt work
on mandrake:
1 edited /etc/sysconfig/syslog so the SYSLOGD_OPTIONS line looks like: SYSLOGD_OPTIONS="-r -m 0"
2 edited /etc/syslog.conf and added the line: "*.* /dev/tty10"
on debian machine
1 edited /etc/syslog.conf and added: "*.* @loghost"
2 edited /etc/hosts and added an ip for the loghost
restarted syslog on both machines...
Now i do see the syslog from the mandrake machine appearing on on tty10, but not the debian's messages
any clues ???
thanks
