can't undo language change - Evolution & Pan under KDE3.2
Hi
I am running Mandrake 10 (and love it). I operate 99% of the time in English (normally British English but that is really not a major issue... any English will do!) Sometimes I switch my keyboard to German and very very rarely I need to change the whole language of the system for a few minutes. In the past (running Gnome 2 on Redhat 9) I never had a problem with this. However, a week ago I changed the language setting to German. I later changed back to English, but at least two major apps are refusing to change back. Ever since, Evolution & Pan operate in German. German menus, German names for Inbox (i.e. Eingang) and so on. This isn't a problem per se, in that I am comfortably bilingual, but it is annoying. I like my system to be consistent and I like to be in control! Any ideas what I need to do to undo this change? AFAICT no other applications are stuck in German and KDE itself is comfortably English! This is driving me verrückt. Redwine |
Sorry, why does this always happen? I changed country settings - had tried this before - and it made no difference. Then I logged out and back in again - instead of restarting from within the session - and it worked. This is crazy. So the problem is over but I don't understand!
