Can't run wine as root?

Every time I use wine (version 2****508) (I forget what the exact # is) in root my computer crashes and no commands work so I have to flip the switch on my comp. Why does that happen? My latest problem was with starcraft, which seems to load fine but when I used it in root, I couldn't use my mouse or any key commands. The reason I ran it in root is because when I run it as a user, I don't get fullscreen. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

No, that's not it (at least at my machine). Wine is ALPHA! When you start it from the command line (just type wine in a terminal as root) the program tells you, that it's not implemented yet to run for root.

You can run wine as root, it's just not recommended ;D I do still run timesync in root with wine because I like to keep my computer's clock updated.
