Can't read old disk parition - LVM?

I have an existing FC4 system that I am changing over to use as a MythTV box. I removed the existing 80GB drive and installed a 500GB drive and installed a fresh install of MythDora 4.0. I want to copy some files from the old drive back to the new system. The old drive is now installed in a USB portable drive chasis and is device sdb.

The boot partition (sdb1) is recognized ok, but the partition I need to get to sbd2 is listed as "unknown file system".

Both the old FC4 and the new MythDora systems use Logical Volume Manager. Can someone clue me in as to what I might need to do to read/mount sdb2?

Thanks,

I'd think that the partition should show up as an LVM partition, but you can try your luck anyway, it may be your partitioning tool.

First try a 'pvscan'. This will search for drives and partitions that are LVM partitions.
If the physical volume is found then you may try a 'vgscan' to scan the pv for vgs.
If your volume groups are found then try to enable them with: 'vgchange -ay'

It's been a while since I've done this, so reading up on the commands above may be beneficial.
