Can't make Nvidia driver work on Fedora 7!

Hi, thank you all for trying to help, I have recently upgraded FC 6 to Fedora 7, and I was trying to install the Nvidia driver, but, so bad! I get this when I boot:

ImportError: No module named livnaConfigDisplay.const

I installed it by doing, sudo yum install kmod-nvidia and it installed the kmod-nvidia and it also installed the xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-1.0.

I did the same when I installed for first time the FC6, and it worked so good, and now, it's all freaking bad.

I hope someone can help! please!

thank you very much!

Mauri

I solved it! I had to install this package http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat...oarch.rpm.html and run livna-config-display, hope it helps someone else!

... don't "upgrade", do a fresh installation. For this reason, always make a home partition.

FC7 is supposed to be quite a departure from previous trends.

Searching LQ shows this fix .
Searching fedora forum shows this fix.

Have you tried either of these?

You also posted to fedora forum... If you get a solution there before here, please say so.

livna-config-display is a graphical and command-line tool to manage the various
display drivers offered at the Livna repository. It configures the
GDM and KDM display managers, as well as the X server configuration.
... i.e. you hadn't configured X and/or GDM/KDM correctly.

Well done anyway, and I'm sure the tool will help many people.
