can't install or use smbmount in FC 7

The title is wrong. It's supposed to be FC 6.

I need to use smbmount(smbfs) on FC 6. The reason is because a program called "FileBackup" requires remote drives be mounted using smbfs to be able to backup a folder. I've tested this with FC 4 and it works. FC 4 uses smbfs by default. FC 6 won't let me use smbfs to mount drives. FC 6 uses CIFS instead, which FileBackup isn't completely compatible with.

Does anyone know how I can emulate or use directly smbfs mounting on FC 6?

thanks,
Adam
