Can't install ndiswrapper SUSE 10

Hi All,

I realize that this is a much talked about topic, but I have not found any discussion that will solve my problem.

I'm using SUSE 10, I'm trying to install a Linksys WMP54GS using ndiswrapper.

I did manage to get the wireless to work following Andrews site. However, I crashed the system while trying to install sound drivers.

I reloaded SUSE and again followed Andrews instructions and I only get this error:

Can't find kernel build files in /lib/modules/2.6.13-15.11-smp/build;
give the path to kernel build directory with
KSRC=<path> argument to make
make[1]: *** [prereq_check] Error 1

I've loaded Kerel Source, GCC, and Make files.

I've also tried using the package that comes with SUSE 10. Everything appears to work until I get to the "modprobe" command and I'm told that the "module does not exist".

I've got sym links to nearly everything that seems to make any sense at all, but nothing works. I've tried an older version of ndiswrapper, no luck.

Can anyone tell me where the "kernel build files" are located or how I can install them? As I mentioned I have loaded kernel-source with YAST.

Why would the wireless work once and not the second time?!!

Needles to say I am extremely frustrated and will likely scrap Linux if I can't solve this problem soon.

Thank you for any help!

did you try passing that KSRC option to make as directed in the error file?

Hi Samoth,

Thank you for responding.

I did not try that. Perhaps, that's how I should have asked where are the "kernel build files". Any of the paths that I think I should use, I've already added a sym link for. I think.

Do you have any other ideas, or can you suggest a path to KSRC?

Thank you agan!

Hi All,

I solved the problem. Apparently the kernel source installed using YAST was the wrong one. I downloaded the kernel source fron RPM Find and everything is working fine.
