Can't install gDesklets! :(

I'v been tyring to install gDesklets for awhile, wasn't successful...now I'm trying again that I'm more experianced, but I still can't get it!!

So i dled the .tar.gz, untarred
./configure :

configure: error: Library requirements (gnome-python-2.0 >= 1.99.17 pygtk-2.0 >= 1.99.17 gdk-2.0 gtk+-2.0 libgtop-2.0 >= 2.0.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

So I'm like....huh...no gnome-python, eh?
do a google
found what seems to be it: pygtk-2.0.0
Installed from source

But it didn't help...

Im using RH9, fluxbox mainly, but i understand it can run gnome apps, anyways i tried doing it under gnome..

I was wondering if i had to install the newest version of GNOME? but that seems like overkill....

install apt-rpm to fix your RPM depency hell. Then install Debian and cut out the punk middleman with the hat on.

Seriously.

llamakc man, you read my mind...
I started linux in Sept...did my homework and wanted to start with a realativly beginning distro, but have been aching to try the real toys...

Anyway I posted a related post in General forum about my adventures with apt-get :)
