can't find awk
 

im trying to install something and linux keeps telling me it can't find awk. im runnig slackware 10.2 where can i get awk from?

awk is part of virtually every single base system out there... if you open a console and run "awk" do you really get a file not found message? it will absolutely be on your distro cd's if it really is not installed, but i'd be more tempted to think that you have some form of path problem, whereby it's not looking in the right directories for awk.
