Tried to play simtower on wine
Could not load 'WAVMIX16.DLL' required by 'Tower', error=2
I have searched the net *everywhere* can't find anything!
Tried multiple search querys on google... tried http://www.dll-files.com/ ... tried even getting on my brothers WIN2K machine and searching for "wavmix" -- the file simply doesn't seem to exist!
I did find a post to usenet back in 1995 for someone who was looking for it too. It was a long shot, but his email address was not activated anymore (bounced back, well hell... i was like 10 years old back in '95... now i'm 18)
Another post dated in 1995 a guy said "I came across this file (WAVMIX16.DLL) today in my \WINDOWS\SYSTEM" -- his ISP doesn't even exist anymore!
WOW... so close so far, after plummaging through over 200 usenet messages I found one. It was some weird language, but dated from 2002 and at the bottom i saw http://www.fox-box.com/dll/w/wavmix16.zip -- DEAD LINK!
which is a dead link!!!!!!!!
As you can see I've sat here all night (now its, uh, 7:29 am) looking for this stupid ass dll... for an old game I love.
HERES WHAT I'VE COME UP WITH SO FAR
I can almost safely say that the dll is on windows 3.1 (and maybe windows 95)... if anyone can help find it...
Seriously, I'm at my whits end -- and I need help .. *swears*... thanks
i have it at home, but I thought you had got the files in the zip program... sorry jon_k... if you haven't gotten it by tonight (its 1:16pm where I live), then drop me an email <oubipaws@myrealbox.com> and I'll send it out to you.
