Can't even install applications

Id like to install a P2P, Know of any good ones? I have limewire and can't even get that to install....I'm tryin hard to break away form windows and become a dedicated Linux person... needless to say when I try to install a program on linux I get lost with out any easy little setup Icons to click on...I tried and it said I needed to have java 1.31...whats that for?.....HELP please...Im going nowhere...

The program needs JAVA, because thats what it was written in.

For different P2P apps, please search the forums. The icon is in the top right of the page. This topic has been discussed MANY times.
