can't access samba from w2k

I just installed Samba 3.0.0 from source on Red Hat 9. The daemons are running fine and I've configured them using SWAT. When I browse my local workgroup I can see the server fine. I added a user with the SWAT password interface and enabled them yet I can't seem to log into the server. Can anyone point me what to what I should troubleshoot next?

Here is my smb.conf:

Code:
# Global parameters
[global]
        workgroup = QUINLAN
        server string = Quinlan File Server

[RAID1]
        path = /raid1
        read only = No

It appears that I am getting different results when using the smbpasswd command line tool versus SWAT to set the password:

using SWAT:
Code:
meyers:500:2D0035003400350000003500A9560000:00000000652F6D657965727300000000:[U          ]:LCT-00000000:
using smbpasswd:
Code:
meyers:500:624AAC413795CDC1AAD3B435B51404EE:C5A237B7E9D8E708D8436B6148A25FA1:[U          ]:LCT-3FD765E9:
When I set the password with smbpasswd I am able to access the server just fine. When it's set with SWAT, I can't log in. Any idea why this is? When I add the user with SWAT, I enter the username, their password (and confirm) then click "Add New User." Then I click on the "Enable User" button. Am I doing this improperly?
