C Compiler problems.....
hi guys,
im completely new to linux, so what im about to ask may sound really stupid, i have recently brought Linux professional 9.2, it said on the description that it comes with a C Compiler, i have looked through the manual and cant find anything about it, im really pulling my hair out at the moment as im supposed to give a presentation on how to use the c compiler on friday, and im really stressing out, do i have to install it???? if so where from???? any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Dan |
Linux 9.2 doesn't exist... you mean SuSe 9.2?
either way... the c compiler is called "gcc" and will be on your distro cd's somewhere. often it is not installed by default as many standard users have no interest or requirement to compile code from source. |
yeah sorry i did mean suSe,
well i had about 4 cd-Roms and 2 DVD that came with the package, i used the 1st DVD to install suSe, thinking about it, it didnt ask me for the second one, so would it most likely be on the second DVD or on one of the cds??? thanks for your help Dan |
