C compailer


I work with RH 7.3 whan I issue the command ./configure I recived the following error:
[root@juanlinux gphoto2-2.1.1]# ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
what should I do ?

Do you have gcc installed? Did you install the development packages when you installed RH7.3?

rpm -ivh gcc* ( star to install all the components )

You could also boot with the RedHat CD and choose to upgrade your system. Then select the development packages.
