Burning sym links? Odd problem.
I'm trying to back-up two huge dirs I have on two separate drives. I'm doing this alphabetically on DVDs to keep the contents in order. So I've sym linked (thus effectively merging) the two dirs to a single dir on /, but when I burned the first few files to a dvd (using graveman since it's the only DVD burning app I know of that uses GTK and excludes cdrecord-ProDVD) it actually burned the sym links to the dvd (a couple of ~40b files) instead of what they're linked to (~3.5G worth of files). Interestingly enough, the burnt dvd looks as if a considerable amount of space was taken up (from the burn marks you see), but not as much as it would have (~3.5G; definitely >75% of DVD would look burnt, rather than looking ~35% burnt) if it burnt the contents correctly. Why is this happening? Thanks for your help.
