Building from source; can i add menu to gnome?
I run Slackware 10.1 and therefore build [almost] all my software from source. Problem is that nothing I build from source shows up in my gnome menus. For the time, all my manual installations have icons on the desktop, and i just have to remember if the program i want came with slack (and therefore is in the menu) or if I installed it myself (and i should look on the desktop). rrgghh!
I read that gnome now uses freedesktop specs for menus, but can't seem to find out what that means for me. Is there an easy way to populate my menus? Would be best if I could have a way to make my menus consistant between gnome and kde since I find myself switching between the two a bit (a couple months with gnome, then i get fed up and go w/kde..... back and forth)
