bspatch, how do i use it?

How do i use bspatch? i realize there is no gui for it, and i would like to patch one file. I have the bsdiff file, which i realize is what i need. But i cannot for the life of me figure out how to use bspatch. The location of the file to be patched is /home/user/Downloads/ps3/PS3UPDAT.PUP and the location of the patch is: /home/user/Downloads/ps3/patch/PS3UPDAT.PUP.bsdiff i am familiar with terminal, so i would like as much help as you can provide please and thank you!

Hi -

How to use "bspatch" is one thing. How to install PS3UPDAT.PUP firmware on your PS3 is actually a different thing.

Suggestion: Google for ps3updat.pup, ps3tools and ps3utils. You should find easy to follow instructions.

i actually had done that, it was only after that that i decided to come one here. Windows has a gui for it, i refuse to use windows, so i wanted to figure it out on here. I know how to install the ps3 update to my console, so that is not what i am asking, but i have a patch for my ps3 update that i want to apply to it, and the patch was written as a .bsdiff file.
