most plugins, such as mozplugger and the flash-player plugin install themselves to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and /usr/lib/mozilla-1.x/plugins, the linux browsers look in these locations for plugins
it's only if you install extra browsers and/or put browsers into non-default locations that you may need to some copying and linking
the libjavaplugin doesn't and needs to be done manually
I installed the mplayer plugin http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/
I downloaded it but when I go to do something it buffers and then freezes. Any ideas?
I have never been able to get realplayer to work under firefox. Something really odd has happened to my system in that Mozilla 1.4 has just stopped working. I used to use it for listening to online radio with realplayer but emulating a similar config for firefox does not work. I have reinstalled Mozilla 1.4 and opened `top` to watch what is going on. Sure, the mozilla binary appears to start executing and then just dies. I use either firefox or konqueror most of the time, but you know how it is using linux on the web, some badly constructed sites need a variety of browsers throwing at them to get the desired results. If I can get realplayer working under firefox then mozilla will become redundant. I am very curious why it will not work anymore however.
i havent looked into it,
other than having a quick look at the mozill page where it says that the real player plugin doesn't work with firefox
seems a bit silly as it worked fine with 0.7 but not 0.8
(this IS rocket science to me - hopefully they'll have it sorted by 0.9)
epiphany is the only browser on mdk10 that i can get to stream ram/rm files
there is a way of getting round it,
if you go to "view source" and can find the rm/ram address in the html
then copy it it into the "open location" address bar in the Real PLayer itself
