browser log-out when using rtcwake

I have a PC running Orion netmonitor which I want to stay on permanently, but I want to give it a rest overnight (primarily to extend the life of the monitor) so I currently have a cronjob which uses rtcwake to put it into hibernate at 22:00 and come back on lots of seconds later.

This works fine but annoyingly when I come in in the morning the browser is up and running, the screen is on, but the browser has logged out of the monitoring screen so I have to log in again manually.

Any ideas how I can stop this happening?

I tried using '-m mem' in my rtcwake command, and leaving out the -m option altogether (which I believe puts it into standby), but both have the same issue.

May be the cookie or session has expired. Is the cookie/session liftetime configurable? That's what I would check.

Thanks for the reply. In the end I decided to just switch the monitor off rather than put the PC into hibernate, which solves the problem:

xset dpms force {off|on}

I use it with a simple script set up to run as a cronjob
