broken pipe while installing Ndiswrapper

I started to install Ndiswrapper, but got no further than "sudo make install." The response to that command was "Broken pipe." Actually, I tried typing sudo with several other commands, and they produced the same response. What is a broken pipe?

I am duly humbled, and would be happy to delete one or both of the posts in question, except that as far as I know, we can't delete our own posts. Why don't you moderators allow that? Or do you?

No. Theres some good reasons. No we don't, really.

Broken pipe means the output of one command wasn't picked up by an app in the pipe probably because it exited too early.
Just su to root and try "make install".
