Well... first of all... I don't see why you have to say you're more intelligent than an adult or anything. Everyone has their own capabilities and they should all be respected, in my opinion.

Well... regarding how to install LimeWire... have you tried the following?

Quote:

$ chmod +x LimeWireLinux.bin
$ ./LimeWireLinux.bin
Where $ is the prompt in your console. If that fails... do you have the Java Runtime Environment installed? If so... is the path to the JRE binaries included in the $PATH variable?

I don't know why 15 should be so young (heck, I'm 15 too), and we understand what you meant, but if you don't know what we mean by "cd", you have a lot to learn ;-) First, you need to find out where the console/command-prompt/terminal can be accessed (if you tell us what distro you have, we can help more). Then, you need to learn about UNIX/Linux commands at a place like www.indiana.edu/~uitspubs/b017/

I don't know what LimeWire is, but it seems that whatever you're trying to do, you need to learn a bit more about Linux. ;-)

Hi well I am 35 and remember being 15 once, well to install Limewire, first you need java, do you have java, if not goto sunsite, and download java (J2re) unless you are a club member then you can access the RPM's, then you need to set the path in the same folder you are installing Limewire (home is good under your user name, as installing Limewire as root is not a good idea)

export PATH=$PATH;/usr/local/java/j2re.....x

then right click LimeWireLinux.bin to ensure executable and permissions are set for you to read,write etc. then double click the file, or in console type

./LimeWireLinux.bin

and follow instructions..................lol
