Question I need help to!

I have suse 9.3 and I want to install Limewire. I am new to linux. I downloaded the limewirelinux.rpm, but when I try to install it with YaST, I get a message that tells me I need Java2 1.48.2 or greater. So I went to the Java packages that I had and saw that I habe Java2 1.50 so then, again in YaST, I tried unchecking the boxes for 1.4 whatever it was, and checking the box for 1.50 and then I get a dependancy error for Openoffice 2.0. But now I am confused because if Openoffice works with java2 1.4whatever, then shouldn't it work with version 1.50? What do I do?

OpenOffice may have been written against a specific version of java, YaST happily worked out that dependency problem for you, but when you manually changed that, you got the error. I'd switch back and follow the following:

Limewire is really slow, bulky, and rarely produces decent results. GiFT and Bittorrent are really much better P2P applications to use within the Linux environment. There are plenty of other options as well, and most are preferred over LimeWire.

Good Luck!

Cool
