Hi! I am trying to find out what are the main differences between bash and bourne shell

The reason you may not see a big difference is that a lot of distros have the bourne "sh" command simply a link to bash with an environment change. This may keep you from discovering the true... Bourne Identity (yuk yuk), but seriously the bourne shell sucks. Stick to bash, it's technically superior, and compared to archaic old bourne, it's brand GNU (yuk yuk).
