bootsplash
Hi,
I'm trying to set up bootsplash on my Dell Optiplex gx110. I installed debian sarge and want to migrate to kernel 2.6.7. I applied the patch to the kernel, compiled it using the make-kpkg method. Next I rebooted and (re)configured the bootsplash. After another reboot everything should work, but I got following errors: On boot a choice between different text modi is offered. Inserting an image on the fly with splash - -u /etc/bootsplash/themes/... results in the error /proc/splash: No such file or directory There is a i810 graphics chip onboard, which I compiled intop the kernel (marked experimental). Thanks for your help! |
ps: I used howto http://www.debianforum.de/wiki/Bootsplash [german] for installation.

ok, according to
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/m...msg_id=7432925 there is no current solution for this problem. |
There is a solution: you should be in 24 bits color mode (eg, 791, not 792 for 1024x768)
