boot sector and lilo collapse !!!!! URGENT URGENT URGEN !!!!!

Today I've turned on my box and it would not boot. I've forgot to rerun lilo yesterday and now I have a problem. I have SATA hdd and a boot disk (from installation). If I insert boot disk into floppy and boot, the kernel panic shows up because the driver for SATA hdd is not present; however I have a perfectly working driver for SATA hdd on other disk. How do I tell lilo when searching for kernel image it tells me that I insert driver disk??

!!!!! URGENT URGENT URGENT !!!!!

hm...what if you did a new bootdisk, but made it so that it has the driver in it? wouldn't that be the simplest way... (or actually, I dont' know about the simplicity..but) the problem of course is that you need a working linux to do this..

EDIT: sorry I can't help with lilo. it's just that I haven't used lilo for a long time now, not after I installed grub..

I don't think so, but of course I'm using Fedora 1. I thought that the rescue disc would only set him back to the defaults in lilo, which should be the same as he has on the floppy. My question is, can you edit your lilo file (when its booting) or the disc? In my rescue disc it has an option(press 'e' or something) to edit settings, which is the same as grub. Now I don't know what you should change because I don't use lilo, and I dont know zip about SATA hdd, but maybe someone else can tell you what to enter.

Don't know if this will help.
When I boot up my bf24rescue floppy ("rescue root=/dev/fd0"), inserting the root floppy when requested, one of the options presented in the menu (after language selection) is "Preload modules from a floppy disk".
This message (in part) appears: "All the modules you want to load with this process must reside in the boot subdirectory of your floppy disk."
Another option is "Execute a shell".
Perhaps it would be possible to load the driver, start a shell, mount the drive and run lilo?
Not sure it will help, all I can think of.

From Windows use the rawrite program. It's on most distros install CDs or can be downloaded from the internet.
Most CD programs allow burning a boot image of a floppy. Since there is a second image this may or may not work. ("rescue root=/dev/hdc" ??)

now i've installed os 2000 loader boot loader software. It found Linux partition and its boot sector, but it seems that I've overwritten the linux boot sector with windows boot sector. Is it possible to rewrite linux boot sector from windows?

I don't think windows is of any help if you need to "rewrite" your linux boot sector...the chances are you could do it by booting from a floppy, if you could start a shell.
