Boot Manager on CD-ROM

Hi all,

I would like to have a boot manager on CDROM, similar to a boot floppy with lilo, grub, etc, but on CD. I want to install Linux on my company's laptop and boot on Linux with the CD, because it does not have floppy drive and I don't want to touch MBR so the people doesn't know there is another operating system on the laptop.

I hope I'm clear with the question :o)

Thanks a lot

Check out this link on how to make a boot cd to boot your linux distro:

http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=11801

It's geared to mandrake but you should be able to adapt it for any linux distro. The technique simulates a 2.88MB floppy on a cd because most of todays kernels are too big to fit on a standard 1.44MB floppy. You can do your install, make your boot cd, check to make sure it works then restore your windows bootloader and no one will know. When you want to boot linux, just pop in your cd.
