Phoey on booting faster. That thing cleared up some muddy water for me on how it works.
Mine boots fast enough for me anyway. Is good reading though. I bookmarked it. Thanks for the link. Got anymore? :D :D :D :D :study: |
Yeah I like watching everything load in case there are any problems but the UML User Mode Linux is really coool to know.

Oh well
I was hoping to see some really long uptimes.
What is the longest uptime anybody has had? Mine, about four weeks with a old AMD 400MHz and Mandrake 9.1. Should I start a new thread and let people join in this one? I'm sure there is someone out there that has went a long time. Curious now. :D :D :D :D |
good thread...start one.
mine is about 3 weeks - had to reboot for a new video card. |
ah! that article is too complex and I can't take the risk as I do not know enough about linux.

Yup....that's a nice link....and I really find the concept of UML (User mode linux) a fantastic one!......I think it is set to be a very significant tool for people involved in developing software as well as those looking to simulate multiple machines on the same piece of hardware...
However, the article seems complicated to me at this point......So i probably feel that I'll need some time to dwelve deeper before I can try out this one... But anyways, thats a damn good piece of info.... thanks, amit |
