Unhappy boot


i just installed redhat 7.0 (somehow i managed to install it :P)
i did a linux partition..how could i let my computer boot from that patition..
i tried to install bootmagic (i got also win me)but it dont boot redhat in a mode similar to dos mode but its not dos
that also what happens when i try to boot from the linux boot disk
...how could i go back to the graphical interface from that mode?
i hope i was clear enough...
thx in advance for the help

Ok, so basically all that's wrong is that you have a sensible login prompt as opposed to a poncy, liable-to-screw-up Graphical login. This is most likely to be bacuse your runlevel has changed in the /etc/initab file there should be enough info in the file to get you knowing what's what. should only be a case of changing a 3 to a 5. I'll admit tho that i've tried to get the login manager to work (usually called xdm i think) and it's often just done nothing...

You do know abuot startx don't you?
