./blender gives error loading shared libraries

When I type
Code:
[unholy@localhost blender-2.28-linux-glibc2.2.5-i386-static]$ ./blender
I get..
Code:
./blender: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
And the application doesnt load (obviously).

Im using mandrake 9.2 with gcc-3.3.1-2mdk
. I am up to date with any patches / bugfixes (as of the end of Nov 2003).

Thanks in advance.,
unholy

Why do you want the static version for anyway? Get this one:

ftp://ftp.cs.umn.edu/pub/blender.org....5-i386.tar.gz

That's for the version 2.31, the latest. There's no game engine into that one. If you need the engine (which is cool) you might want to get an older one, as this one:

ftp://ftp.cs.umn.edu/pub/blender.org....2-i386.tar.gz

and its Publish Key:

http://www.blender3d.org/shop/key.dat

Try with those and see if it works

I think the static version uses software OpenGL rendering, which you only need if you have no OpenGL 3D acceleration on your video card. Runs very slowly
