Bittorrent in Mandrake 10 Official.

Hello, I want to install bittorent in Mandrake 10 official release. I think it was installed from the CDs (bittorrent, I mean) but now I don't know how to make it run in order to download files from -let's say- Suprnova.

What steps should I follow to download the files?

Thanks for your cooperation.

Okay, well. It might be a better idea to just grab the current version of BitTorrent from http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html.

1) Download the Python source tar.
2) Extract the python source: tar -xzf filename (replace filename...)
3) change into the newly created directory (should be something like bittorrent)
4) Run the following command: ./btdownloadcurses.py --url url to torrent

Alternatively if you wish to download the torrent directly to your harddrive the url to torrent can be a path/directory. I'm not sure how Mandrake has it set up, but the above works great for me, plus you get the latest version of BitTorrent.

Let me know how it goes. Oh btw, the above command downloads the file(s) to the current directory. Use --saveas path on the command to point it to another place.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help to both of you. It was really helpful. By the way, which are the best places to download torrents for linux?

Thanks again,

:-)
