best rar method


i am used to using windows with winrar, on linux, is there a single program that can archive and unarhive rars with a gui. the pre-installed archiver does not seem to work on rar.

i am running fc4 w. gnome

you need unrar from the rarlabs website. Its CLI, but the GUI archivers probably has support for external commands. There may also be an RPM of unrar, too.

unrar can archive and unarchive then?

yes, it is the official tool to do that. I was also saying that your graphical archiver of choice can *probably* do it as well by using unrar as a backend.

if you have rar installed then archiver will work
