best lightweight P2P client

hey i was looking around for a linux P2P sharing program and i see limewire and frostwire but they need java to work is there anyotherones that dont require java??

You could use gtk-gnutella. It will certainly use less system resources than Lime/FrostWire, but personally I always thought the interface was unusably terrible.

For BitTorrent there's rtorrent. Configurable, stable, well-designed, and extremely light-weight.

Why is Java not in Debian's repo?

Try AMule.

phantom_cyph 05-01-2007 05:58 AM

Installed. Looks OK (AMule), but what is needed to connect? Listing servers?

reverse 05-01-2007 06:07 AM

In the "Servers" field, insert this: http://ocbmaurice.dyns.net/pl/slist....erver-best.met and hit ">". Then connect.

Try Transmission (torrent).
