Hi folks. I'm happy to be returning back to the Linux fold after a year of an XP hiatus.
I had a couple of good programs I used in Windows for backing up my DVD's: DVD Decrypter & Pinnacle InstantCopy. Well, I'm really hoping that I can do that very thing on Linux.
I installed Wine, then installing DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink. I have a small problem with Wine not recognizing my DVD writer.
BUT I'm also wondering if there is a linux-native DVD ripper and a program that I can shrink the DVD's down to a single layer DVD. I've heard of AcidRip and DVD::Rip. Are either of these good for what I'm looking for? Should I just get the Wine thing figured out and stick with DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink?
What do you folks use?

dvd::rip is generally considered the best for making dvd rips.
