Beryl and Jedit

I just discovered these two gems, and I love them both. Trouble is, they don't seem to want to play nice together on my ubuntu feisty setup. Jedit will launch and technically run fine with Beryl running, but when I resize my jedit window, the contents of that window don't expand to fill it! If I disable Beryl, everything works fine...but...I like Beryl ...

Does anyone have experience with this problem? Warning: I am very new to linux; please be gentle.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Thumbs up Solved

SOLUTION:

I was able to solve my problem and am posting here in hopes that it will eventually help someone else in the future.

Apparently this is a known issue with java and Beryl. The solution was to add

Code:
export AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit
as the first line of my ~/.bashrc file. Hope this helps.
