Beryl 0.2.0 and missing title bars

Hello.
I'm using gnome and beryl... And whenever I try to start it my title bars are gone.
I've tried both with emerald and heliodor, and still the same effect. Any ideas ?

I noticed the same thing on Fedora some weeks ago when I tried, but it worked out like first time I run beryl-manager it worked great, and after booting when Beryl should have been automatically started the title bars were gone and I got them back only by running beryl-manager manually.

If running beryl-manager doesn't help, and you're not using any weird desktop system, I guess you should read trough Beryl docs/faqs to see if there is anything...I take it that you have already searched Google, right?

Yep I've googled already... Changed xorg.conf in many ways. Currently I have:
Code:
Section "Device"
    Identifier "A6600"
    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "TripleBuffer" "true"
    Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "True"
    Option "RenderAccel" "True"
    Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
EndSection
Section "Extensions"
    Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection
I also played with advanced options for example rendering path, but there were no results ...

The same happens on Gnome and Xfce

I had the same symptom, but may problem may have been different. I use an nVidia GPU and Xorg has a bug (See RedHat Bug #182517) that causes the mouse pointer to disappear when used with nVidia GPU. The fix for the bug is to add the line
Code:
Option "HWCursor" "off"
to the Section"Device" of xorg.conf. I had to comment this line out to restore my title bars. Hope it helps.

It's a problem in texture sizes wrongly detected by beryl.
Try to resize the window to less than 512 pixel and see.

Also launch it through command line:
$beryl-manager
and look at the maxsize of textures. Here I have 2048x2048 but a lot of cards have 512x512 which is fine but beryl then wrongly calculates the size when trying to detect GL extensions.

I have so many other bugs with beryl I don't even dare to launch it again.

edit:
never say never
I ran it again and and and.. I had not anymore problems (title bar, some windows not displayed, blue line when going into beryl-manager menu,..)
Until it broke again for no reason
That's funny.. for me I need to resize them to a higher size for the refreshing to work. Some of my windows are not refreshed at all, quite unusable.
Maybe something to do with "power of two" sizes.
Probably different among graphic cards Nv/ATI/Intel because they have different texture size (if I am not wrong about the root cause).
Okay I'll debug again this evening..

Hello,

sometimes I have the same error.
Right-Click on Emerald-Manager and choose Window-Manager. Load Beryl.
If Beryl is checked then reload the window-manager.

Ok removed Gnome (never liked it much ) As always KDE works brilliantly. Beryl works fine with emerald... Strange thing. Everytime I try to use Gnome it works badly, hangs etc. The same when I use Firefox... Those programs simply don't like me
