Hi everyone,
I'm not a big gamer, I used to love my amiga games as a kid, lemmings, Settlers, Cannon Fodder & as I grew up I got my new PC games, Heroes Og might and Magic II & III, warlords III.
I've also always loved the mythical world of Dragons, Elves and Orcs (yes I have read LOTR and the Hobbit and loved them both, the movies were pretty cool too).
I'm also a fan of the turn based games & never a big graphics fan either so when I saw this artical about an open source adventure game with Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and even tree people at
http://en.wikinews.org I just had to try it out.
It rocks! it's a great game and a great idea, open source games were the users can contribute and the game evolves with user idea's. The central philosophy of Battle for Wesnoth development is the KISS principle; for a new idea to be accepted, it should not complicate gameplay. I think thats great! the game works so well and i've got to admit, i'm hooked! I just spent all weekend playing it, it's the first computer game i've played in years.
check it out everyone!
