basic mysql and sqlite questions
I want to run mysql v4x and have a version of mysql that shows up in the server list; I think it is v3x. How can I tell what version is running?
I can't get mysqpadmin commands to work and think there is no such program. Is the mysql that gets installed not the full package?
Is it important to go up in mysql versions one at a time as the mysql web site suggests?
Does anyone know if mysql will run in parallel with mysqlite?
I am pretty new at Linux and completely dumb at mysql.
Thanks for any help.
I forgot to give you my system:
Fedora C2, with updates as of 7/1/04
I'd like to bump this, because I'm stuck in the same boat. I can see that MySQL is installed, but none of the admin stuff is there nor can I find mysql.sock.... Can anyone point me in a direction to get started on this stuff. I'm just trying to install movabletype blogger software, and it needs a simple preinitialized database
