bash: emacs: command not found


I am running mandrake 9.1 and after installing of mplayer, eclipse or java sdk 1.4.2 I am suddently not able to run emacs and some other programs. Do you have any idea why ??

Peform the the following commands and check the output

1) Is emacs installed

$ rpm -qf emacs

2) is the package installation in good order

$ rpm -qV emacs

3) which emacs am I trying to run

$ which emacs

4) what is my PATH variable set to

$ echo $PATH
