Bank and Linux browsers
Hello. Im just asking do you have access to your bank account via linux browsers (mozilla,konqueror,galeon........etc.). Cause i just noticed that i cant anymore use my account, because the bank has changed something security systems. when im trying to move to page where i could give login and passw.
it says download PSM (personal security manager) i was thinking is this something MS application. Oh my, well maybe i just go to bank and shout out loud. |
yes, you need PSM to enter sites that have SSL(encryption). What distrobution are you using? if it is an RPM based distro, goto your package manager and just search for mozilla-psm...
if you don't know what i mean, just tell me what you know and i'll get ya there. |
I use Opera 6 for Linux to access my bank account. Works great so far.
|
PSM (personal security manager) is not a ms app you can download it or i dont know other but redhat installs it by default
|
Head over to mozilla.org. You can get the PSM rpm's there. That will be good for mozilla and galeon. I never had to get it for Konqueror so i assume it's already there.
|
I use Opera as well, in one bank it works flawlessly, in my other one it tells me I can't use their sites because cookies aren't enabled (they are) yet lets me log in and works normally also.
|
Well I have access to all my bank accounts using Netscape 7.0, maybe give it a try.
|
Thanks everyone
Heh i almost changed my bank. Thank for your replys. Im using RH 8.0 and yes i found PSM package for mozilla but it isnt installed by default cause i was deselected it.
Like Linus sayed "just for fun". I almost have forgot how boring windows was. Nowadays i learn everyday more about computers and how they work. |
