Bad Magic Number
Dear All,

I meet this problem this morning and i try to solve but everything go in pain.

I have redhat 7.1, when it boot and try to check the fstab file, it is giving error saying that :

the / (root partition) was corrupted or not have a valid ext2 file system, Bad Magic number while trying to open hda5. so i go to the console and do this e2fsck -b 32768 /dev/hda5 (hda5 is my root partition), it is do the check and finished the saying that file system was MODIFIED, then i type reboot but it is return to the same problem.

Any one have met this problem and solved ?
