BACKUP utility
 
I am looking for a backup utility program, is there a good and easy one on linux?

'dd' called disk dump. it dumps all the contents of the dard drive.

dd is a command isn't it?
how can it be restore after a crash?

backing up you dump from primary disk t o secondary disk,
restoring you dump from secondary disk to primary disk;)

using 'dd' you make a bit to bit image of the original disk. to make it you have to have the hd with same specifications of the primary drive. it is like making a clone.

if you want to backup some specific files you can use 'tar' and then dump then or copy them somwhere.

or you can use 'ghost' to make an image of the drive. after a crash you can restore the exact image of the hard drive
