Question Backup MySQL and it's password

I've created a cron job for this and it sure works, but now I've heard it's better to move the password in that file to another file and instead of wring the password in the cron script point to this separate file.
Why is that more secure?
They say, you can make that file non readable to non root users.
I say, so... I can do that with the cron script file too.

I don't get it? What's the difference?

Maybe the line with password can be seen with ' ps aux ' at the time it is executed ?

Having your database hacked and compromised datas could lead to a little more work...

hehe OK, well it should be that :P
But first they need to get through firewalls and create account(s) and stuff and if they can do that, they can do anything anyways :P
But on the other hand, it's kinda useful to have all passwords in one place, well, if you like that
