Backing up complete Linux system
Hello Folks,
Does anyone has idea about taking the complete backup in Linux. Through which I should be able to take the backup of not only data but also installed softwares & applications along with the entire Operating System. Thus in an event of crisis I should be able to restore everything along with the operating system just the way Nortan Ghost does. Kindly suggest. |
There are many tools to help you do that, G4L (Ghost 4 Linux) is one of them:

Thanks BlueC. I didn't know that.
Does anyone know more such utilities? Is there any inbuilt Linux utility to take the backup? |
dd will do it just fine
There's a very good dd thread on LQ somewhere Edit - here you go http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ommand-362506/ |
Can "dump" & "restore" be used for the same purpose?
