Backing up complete Linux system

Hello Folks,

Does anyone has idea about taking the complete backup in Linux. Through which I should be able to take the backup of not only data but also installed softwares & applications along with the entire Operating System.

Thus in an event of crisis I should be able to restore everything along with the operating system just the way Nortan Ghost does.

Kindly suggest.

There are many tools to help you do that, G4L (Ghost 4 Linux) is one of them:

Thanks BlueC. I didn't know that.

Does anyone know more such utilities? Is there any inbuilt Linux utility to take the backup?

Can "dump" & "restore" be used for the same purpose?
